Turn, baby, turn. Transverse at 37 weeks. Send me your turny vibes?

Scan on Monday, I'll be 36+6, to see if he's still transverse. Then if he is, no doubt followed by a stern talking to from some obstetrician about abandoning my home birth and accepting one of several interventions, I expect.

Send me your turny vibes so that I can get on with being disorganised and unprepared for this baby in peace, please?

Ta.

there is a website 'spinning babies' i think?

and turn baby, turn!

Caitni · 10/01/2010 00:28

Turn baby, turn! And I second the recommendation for the Spinning Babies website. And just in case baby didn't catch it first time - turn baby, turn!

Was in very similar position to you (scuse pun). My DC3 was flipping between tranverse and extended breech at 36+ weeks.

I did all that crawling about the house (a bit), went swimming and bizarrely, had reflexology (and I am usually SO NOT into alternative medicine).
I also tried the spinning babies website (a bit). But if you can find a reflexologist, then do give it a go. Cost me about £30 and if is doesn't turn that cheeky little baby, then you should definitely have the best night's sleep for a long time...

I was scanned on the Friday, was due ECV (?) on the Monday afternoon but my weekend of swimming and having my tootsies rubbed resulted in a Head Down baby...

Good luck - let us know how you get on...

Sorry this might sound a bit weird but I got hold of some kneepads from the hardwear section of Wilco (Nice and cheep) helps with the buggering around on all fors shouting at baby to turn around.
He span at last mo thankfuly.

sending you some turning vibes! it might be worth thinking about an ecv if its offered to you, mine was unsuccessful (ds was breech, had c-section in the end) but it can work. Is this your first baby?

hes a good boy already

NonnoMum · 11/01/2010 23:49

Hoorah! What did you do to get him to behave? Was it just the vibes? Or was it MrsBlackBeards kneepads?

verylittlecarrot · 11/01/2010 23:56

It was the vibes, I'm sure. That and my two year old yelling "HEAD DOOOOOOWN, BABY" at my nether regions.

I was geared up to do headstands off my sofa if he hadn't co-operated. Thank goodness he sorted himself out in time!
