Mucous plug - what does it actually look like?

i have images of a plug-like globule in my head, but can it be more like thick dischrage too?

I have had 2 and they were both exactly the same. Plug like globule describes it well.
Like a (sorry) big coughed up lung clearance during a bout of bronchitis -streaked with a tiny amount of blood.

Thats the best I can do on the description front.
But Ive just google image searched and theres a good pic of one on the first page.

the descriptions were always bound to be a bit graphic!

hadn't thought of google images - will check it out now (had no idea such things were on it!!)
