1st baby - pains 8 mins apart

Just after some advice really -

I am having pains mostly 8 mins apart with some mild period pain between. They are bareable but regular - is this it?! Are they contractions? I am sure i am in for far worse regardless!

I started during the night - TMI but every pain led to dirreah and needing to wee. That has worn off but now i feel sick!

Worried i am making a fuss about nothing!

Thank you in advance

How far are you?

Could they be BH?

Have they become closer & stronger?

Let us know!

(Excited at thought of imminent birth)

40+6 so praying this is it! BH were always higher and not as strong as this.

They were getting steadily closer, now over the last 30 mins getting irratic! Typical - still hurt though!

First labours often stop and start for a while, rest as much as you can right now, have something to eat.

The diarroeah sounds normal, it's your body clearing itself out in preperation.

Good luck!

This may well be early labour. Try and nap, have something light to eat if this is the start you will need all your energy.

Fingers crossed for you that this is it and you will soon have your LO.

This sounds normal for early labour. If the contractions are regular, that's good news but you may have a long time to go. It's serious call your midwife time when you get to 4-5 mins apart.

Rest if you feel like it but otherwise keep gently active (don't wear yourself out). Maybe take a walk. How exciting

Thank you everyone, very nervous!

I have managed to get some sleep between contractions - still about about 8 mins apart, but not an exact science so is this still considered 'regular'?!

sunshine sounds like the start of my labour. They seem quite regular to me. I'd suggest logging off and go and relax with a nice hot drink and eat - you never know when things might kick off so best to keep strength up. Try not to think about the timings so much - just keep your partner/midwife informed.

my labour started at night. and i had period pain like feeling, but about every 5 mins.
i was advised to get in a warm bath by mw.

goodluck, and try to relax.

Agree with warm bath or if you have a TENS machine might be worth popping it on soon - good luck, hope you have a lovely new baby soon!
