C section booked for Monday...had aches all night...false alarm or early signs of labour???

Hi - thread title says it all really.

With DS, my waters broke at 37 weeks and I went straight into a section without any other labour signs. So have no idea what early labour is like!

Since yesterday evening have had intermittent but constant (and a tiny bit painful) tightening in the lower abdomen. Enough to not really let me sleep. Constant lower backache that also extends into my left leg.

Are these symptoms just my body prepping for labour and false alarms, or could it be early labour signs? In which case should I be getting myself to the hospital??

I would say it could be either. If labour is starting, pains should be getting more regular. Have you had a show?

It could just be braxton hicks?

How are you now?

Sorry lots of questions and not much help!

I've been having that on and off for about the last 2.5 weeks and I'm still waiting. So no, I don't think it is a sign that labour is imminent.

Just to update! Went to hospital, was definitely contracting and 2cm dliated.
Csection was carried out within 2 hours of my reaching the hospital...!!
Due to more threatened snow...I begged and pleaded to be let home yesterday...so am in bed with laptop mnetting away. Bliss!

Congratulations

Lucky you went in when you did!

It really was lucky that I did. Just wanted to share so if anyone else finds themselves getting similar symptoms (especially in current nightmare snowy conditions) - dont dismiss them! For some, they are the start of labour!
