Please say yes!! I am 36+5 now and have been getting horrible back ache, electric cervix shocks and am fed up!!

I thought with 2nd babies they didnt engage until labour??

Has anyone had the head engage and go into labour soon after?

Mine was 2/5ths engaged last week (at 38 weeks) it's still in there sorry!
Hope it's different for you!

My seconds head engaged at 37 weeks, stayed put until a few days before the due date. Third is currently engaged at almost 38 weeks, hoping it holds off until the snow is gone!!

I'm 3/5 engaged and said the same to MW that I thought second babies didn't engage, I went 2 and a half weeks over with dd. I'm now 39+5 and have been wishing this one out but not now due to the snow!!

Damn it!! My next appointment is at 38 weeks, maybe I will beg her to do a sweep

I tried that yesterday, all I got was a 41 week appointment . I just sat there talking about when can I book an induction and all I got was 'after 41 week appt' as my hospital do not do them until 42 weeks (unless for medical reason I mean for overdue). My MW was quite clearly finished but I was not budging though got nowhere!!

I'm 38wks now and last week mw told me head was engaged and asked if my hospital bag was ready. This is my second and I've been getting pains and cramps and all sorts! I feel like I could go anyday! And to top it all off, the snow has me stressed! I hope it melts asap b/f anything happens. My hubby works away in the week too. I'm hoping I go on my due date next week like I did with my first. I'm nervous and keep looking for threads like these to get reassurance. Still bit stressed though.

Mine was 3/5 engaged 2 weeks ago today - am 36+2 today. It seems to have popped out and back again several times since judging by mt bump shape, heartburn, stomach capacity etc.

Sorry!

With you on the electric shocks to cervix - blardy uncomfortable.

I thought about trying to encourage things along (before we got buried under a heap of snow last night) but have decided to try and wait it out with good grace. It'll come when it's ready and I really don't want to trigger anymore Braxton Hicks as I am finding them increasingly uncomfy.

I'm 40+2 and she's been engaged since 36 weeks
I had a sweep on tuesday that's not helped and have got another one this tuesday coming. I was hoping for an early baby as my first was born at 37+3. Sadly not to be, resigned to the fact now that I'm going to be induced.
Glad to hear that other people have the electric shocks to cervix - can't remember them from the first time round!

My baby has now dropped so much I can see my ribs under my boobs again (if I breathe in a lot!!)

I remember this with dd but cant remember how long after it was that I went into labour.

I hope its soon for all of us!!
