Do you always get a show?
I didn't have (or didn't notice one) with DS so not sure what it would be like, although I have read descriptions!
TMI: I have been getting a real increase in discharge over the last week or so and some of it is posiitively slimey (sorry - gross I know) does this mean anything?
Do you get gradual shows or does it all happen at once?
Am 39 weeks btw and have been feeling crampy and like baby could be on its way for about a week now. Appt on 29th and baby was 2/5ths engaged.
What say you experts? Am I looking for signs that aren't there?!

a show is usually bloodstained and snotty and can happen over a number of days

I have had shows with both DCs

yours doesn't sound like it TBH but i could be wrong

I didn't have any noticeable show with either - and because I waiting for something more than cx, probably left it a bit late to go into hospital with dc2 (arrived in transition). So you won't necessarily have anything.

Cervical mucous with dc2 was gross (and changeable) for whole of 3rd trimester, though. Ew.

no, I don't think you are wrong Ruby - thanks for the speedy reply!

no blood visible as yet so I think you're right. Perhaps it is just things getting ready!

Thanks too Mmmango. Will keep an eye on everything else as well, just in case!

I also have a question regarding "shows". I am 39 weeks today - due on January 12th - and today I had a tiny bit of brownish discharge. It reminds me of the very last bit of the very last day of your period, and I've not had anything like that during the whole pregnancy. Is this the begiinning of a show? Should it be more spectacular? Should I be concerned? It was only the size of maybe a 10p on my sanitary pad. (Sorry if TMI).

I've spent the day working on making reusable nappies, so have been on hands and knees cutting out fabrics. I suppose that helps with "optimal fetal positioning".... no contractions, none of the extra discharge I've been having the last few weeks, no discomfort. No waters breaking. This is my first and I feel completely clueless!

I had a bit of bloody spotting earlier, and myy MW has told me it's more then likely a show. Wasn't mucousy at all, just bloody.

I had my show throughout yesterday & last night after a membrane sweep, and it was completely pink, and very gooey & snot like in consistensy (sorry, that sounds groce). Have to say though, it was only coming when I went to the loo, I had a pad on & it wasn't coming out constantly. Oh the joys of pregnancy
