Lavendar, clary sage (if you dare make your contractions stronger!!) rose, jasmine... quite often your midwife will have a pack and offer you some at the hospital. Good luck!

I'm planning a home birth (fingers crossed that it all goes ahead!). Maybe the midwife will bring some. I already have rose and lavender, so that's good. Thanks Poppet.

Just had a little look in the box I took to the hospital and I also included ylang ylang to keep you happy and relaxed, lemon (for when you're getting knackered and need a boost) and frankincense (not sure why for this one, but a book recommended it) as well. I'd reckon homebirth midwives will probably have some oils, even in my labour ward they were dishing out reflexology foot massages with them! I ended up using lavendar the most, sniffing it while mooing during contractions!
