Oh dear, and i've just made plans for New Years Eve!

This is my second baby and tbh with my first birth dd didn't engage until very near the end, so i'm a bit worried i'll be giving birth over christmas now!

Has anyone else had this 2nd time around? What was the gap between being told the baby was engaged and actually going into labour?

Don't panic, was head down and head well engaged @ 32 weeks with DC2 - she was induced on day 10 and I delivered (at last) on day 11. as my midwife said "everything's a bit more roomy down there love after the first" (charming). am 31+5 with dc3 and same thing. feels like baby is trying to tunnel its way out with a spoon sometimes the head's so low down.

don't panic - ds2 was engaged weeks ahead but he was still 12 days late

its just your bit more stretchy second time round

thanks weavermum - i know what you mean about the tunneling with a spoon thing, and my god, can i just get a potty to carry around with me, i need the loo every 10 minutes!

displayuntiltwelfthnight - that's reassuring on the one hand, although i'm sure it was frustrating going overdue by 12 days... were you able to get about and do things as normal by the end, or did you have that constant 'any minute now' feeling?

DD was fixed and fully engaged for 8 weeks.
