Best birth positions without a birth partner?

I gave birth to dd on my back and had to really push to get her out IYSWIM.

This time I like the idea of squatting and holding onto the bed. Dp wont be in the room with me, will the midwives help?

Are there any other good postitions that I could on my own?

I can only imagine that the midwives would help you.

But a birthing stool, which should be easily available, gets you into a great supported squat position, opens your pelvis and helps you to bear down. I had one for my 3rd birth and will definitely have one for this one.

This website goes into lots of detail about various positions for birth.

Good luck.
