had baby couple of weeks ago, sore backside since.

When I go to the toilet, poo takes its time coming out and feels like I am passing glass. Stools are not too solid, soft enough, but they hurt and there is blood where they scrape as they come out...sometimes a lot. Is this piles?

God that sounds SO familiar. Probably piles. I'd ask your doctor for a prescription strength cream (Proctosedyl I think is the one I had) and that should help clear you up asap.

Ugh, you have my sympathies. Vaseline liberally applied to the area before pooing can help, er, smooth the way. So I'm told.

Doc prescribed me cream to put on, and lactulose to ease things so there was no straining while the cream did its work (sorry TMI!!)

They will get better soon if treated!

Sprouts, 2much. Think sprouts.

Same here. Germaloid (sp?) cream worked well for me, cleared them up after a few days.

Congrats on your little one

erika you know me my lovely .

Cabbage gave my new little one bad guts so will avoid that! Well I am blaming that, as he did not settle at all well for a while the following day, and had very stuck burps, painfully so, I shall presume it was the cabbage as I have heard it can increase digestive issues in newborns.

But, its a tough call, sleepless nights vs painful poos...which will be the winner .

Another useful tip given to me by a MW who'd been similarly afflicted was to gently but firmly massage around the piles when applying the cream. Apparently it helps restore blood flow to the area, which helps get rid of them quicker. I had the devil's own arsegrapes after DS was born, like sitting on knives, but they had gone within two weeks thanks to this advice.

And now that I've shared with you all the festive tale of how I cured my mangled ringpiece, I shall depart
