just wondering did it take as long with the 2nd one, or tends to be shorter? as you hear most people talking about 2nd babies come a lot quicker, but my 2nd one is quite overdue same as his brother and hospital said cervix still unfavourable etc given low percentage chance of him coming out naturally before 42 weeks, so ill have to go in for induction with the gel and everything again. should i expect it to take same amount of time? i actually had the gel only once with my 1st, whereas ive heard for some people it takes a few doses to start it off, but still was in labour from the friday evening til early sunday morning..

Hi i had it done twice with my children . 1st one labour was 22 hours and had to have the gel twice , same with the 2nd child had to have the gel twice but was in labour for 13 hours , i had the drip which maybe the labour slower , with my 2nd i had to get them to turn it off as it put my labour in very fast , i jumped from 4cm to 9cm in 20 mins , hope it goes well for you and you have your lovely baby soon , all the best of luck

I was induced with both DDs. First one was 38 hours from first contractions to DD being born, second was 6 hours! I only needed one gel and my waters broken with my second (3 gels, waters broken and drip ending with ventouse with first). So very much quicker and easier second time round. Good luck!

Needed 2 prostins and drip with first DC and only one prostin with 2nd - no drip or anything, baby came quickly. Neither baby ready to come out as induced at 37wks as I was ill.
