My waters went at 37+5 last night with a full on gush in the middle of a restaurant during a xmas do and now I'm sitting at home waiting for labour to start.

DS (2.5) was born at 38+3, my waters started with a trickle at 5am and didnt really go until I was in full labour 15hrs later, all of which happened naturally. I went from 0-6cm in 4hrs and he was delivered via forceps (he has a big head ) about 6hrs later.

Anyone any tips on how best to use the time and how to get things going? DS is with his grandparents so he's fine but I really don't want to have to go in monday afternoon to be induced.

Anyone got any experience or words of wisdom?

Hi. When I had dd, my waters went with a gush at about midday on the Tuesday (at 39+5) I did lots of bouncing on birthing ball, went supermarket shopping and basically stayed upright and mobile. Contractions started about 8pm, I went into hospital about midnight and was 4cm and was fully dilated by about 4.30 am.

I am 39+4 today with dc2 so I'm hoping for a repeat performance

I've done the bouncing, still no signs of labour starting so off to shops in a bit to get some pineapple and have a good walk.

Any progress Millie? How about walking side ways upstairs two at a time?

My waters broke all over DS's bedroom floor when 1t about 11pm I was 38+5.
DH was out for a few drinks with his friends, he got home pretty sharply!
Called hospital the folloing morning and they asled me to go in, monitored me for a bit and sent me home with some strips to check my temp to ensure no infection occuring
Another night at home, went in to hospital the following day at about 5pm to be induced. But went into labour on the way there! Maybe I was scared!
DD arrived pretty quickly after that

nipple twiddling always caused contractions for me - I was still bfing DS1 during my pregnancy and I went into labour right after feeding him.

Get your breast pump out...

Hi Millie, hows everything going?

Listen I hope this isn't too much information, and I do realise that you may rather stick pins in your eyes, but orgasm can really set your labour off like a rocket. It makes the uterus contract strongly. How you get there is up to you..

Best of luck. Soon you will be holding your new baby in your arms.
