Sis PG with twins - date for CS is 38 weeks - do many twin pregnancies go that long?

Reason for section is one baby is breech and other is transverse. She is now nearly 36 weeks.

Doc says babies in best place. She is well. She is just a bit worried about being in hosp over Xmas. She has 3 other DCs. Obv if it happens that way there is not a lot can be done but I honestly thought they would deliver before Xmas. She has been given a date of 29th unless something happens in the meantime.

I though 36 weeks was considered term for twins. Am I completely wrong? (It has been known but not often!)

Hi Marsy. They let her home on Tuesday. She is still miserable with chest infection and cold and still spotting but doing ok otherwise.

Babies are doing well. One is estimated to be 6lb 1 and the other 5lb something. So good weights.

So at the moment it is leg crossing time as if she doesn't go in the next day or so she stands a chance of being in hospital for Xmas which she really doesn't want. Going tomorrow would prob just be ok but after that she just wants to get to 26th! Then anything can happen.

So Xmas will be interesting!

A boy and a girl! Arrived at 10.30 this morning.

I flew into Dublin last night and this morning we got a call for someone to look after other 3 DCs. She went in as was having contractions. Was 3cm when examined so striaght in for section.

Boy was 5lb 14 and girl was 4lb 3. All went well.

Girl is in special care but is feeding well so will hopefully be moved in with sis tomorrow.

Hoping they will all be home on Wednesday!

Wonderful news. How are they doing today? What's lovely about her going in to labour first is that the babies were clearly ready to come. Good weights. My wee one was 4lbs 5oz. Send my congrats (now that you've sent me best wishes)
