Think things might of started ! but last labour was very offy onny , so do i wait until i need the gas and air like last time (hospital birth) or do i give them a ring sooner and give them a heads up ,so to speak ?

waters have been up and down to the loo about 5 times in night so may have missed it in dark !!

I would phone them and let them know what's going on. That way they can roughly plan the day and once they're notified you won't have to keep thinking 'shall I ring them yet?' Then you can concentrate of birthing your baby

Good luck

I didn't have shows until I was in established labour and your waters being intact doesn't really much at all.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/12/2009 07:23

mean!

doesn't really mean much at all.

ie your waters may not break until the baby crowns.

bumpsoon · 07/12/2009 07:26

Right then i will give them a ring in a little while ,they will probably be in handover now ,so i will give it half an hour ,last time was like this for 2 days so hopefully no mad rush

tee hee!

Maybe you could wait for the kids nativity play and you could be Mary giving birth to Jesus in the stable?!

Maybe keep in mind 2nd labours can be quite a bit quicker once established

bumpsoon · 07/12/2009 07:33

Oooooh a hb....how lovely

I called the mw when my contractions were every 10 mins.....if you recognise this as the start of labour then call the mw. They'll come ans assess you and make the decision as to whether to stay or not. Good luck!!

bumpsoon · 07/12/2009 07:50

Ooh exciting!
What did the midwife say? Is she coming round?

DisElfchanted3 · 07/12/2009 11:56

I had a sweep at 11am called the midwife at about 11:30 PM... but was only 3 cms,

she said i should go to sleep

rang her again at 5 am (she left at 2am) and she grumbled about coming out again but when she got here I was pushing

How exciting!!

whifflegarden · 08/12/2009 09:41

bumpsoon · 08/12/2009 16:39
