Hi,

i was booked to be induced at 41+5 yesterday after 2 failed sweeps and no sign of natural labour. I have suffered from polyhydramnios so going overdue was a bit unexpected in itself. I am positive of my dates and the scans support these dates.

I was booked for 3pm yesterday and followed all the instructions - i.e called beforehand and told no space asked to call back in a couple of hours etc etc. Spent the whole afternoon on edge....

Eventually I was promised that the head midwife woudl call me back before a certain time to assess me/give me more info - she didn't and I had to call in again - they made me feel like I was harrassing them and were really harsh and spoke to me like I was stupid!

The upshot is they wouldn't take me yesterday and now I have to wait till 7am to call and see if the booking for today at 8.15am stands.

I DO understand that they can't predict when they will be full etc etc but they don't seem to understand what it is like waiting to hear from them.

Any advise or thoughts as to how I can make sure that they take me this morning - I really can not mentally cope with being "bumped" again.

Sorry this is long - only had a couple of hours sleep and am rambling...

Just looking for general advice please!

sorry don't have any advice but I can only offer sympathy. You must be truly fed up and being made to feel stupid and being kept waiting must be so frustrating.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you that today is the day.

I'm worried about the same thing happening to me as well, but it's such a shame that you are in a situation like this is causing you stress.

Sometimes a good freaking out at someone is a good way to get what you need. Can you find out who is head midwife and ask to speak to her? Can you go direct to a consultant? OR - can you threaten to go to another hospital (make a few calls first) and then spread the word about how badly managed your care was?

Just a few ideas! But I think they might be a bit late. Hope you are in the hospital already and on the way to meeting your babe.
