Which TENS machine?

I looked on Product Reviews section and couldn't see anything on TENS machines.

Is there a difference from make to make or are they all pretty much the same thing?

i used an Elle maternity tens - make sure you get one with the boost button.

it's vital to get the electrodes in just the right place. if it's not helping resposition them.

i found it extremely helpful until about 5 cm. I had a contraction or two not using it which proved this to me.

good luck

I've hired mine from Boots both times.

They're not the cheapest but are very reliable and convenient for me.

Any machine designed for using during labour will have a boost button - a normal one won't. Make sure you get one that does.

Totally agree with Sunshiney. I'd been steadily ramping mine up at home but it accidentally got zeroed during the car journey to hospital ... which I only discovered as I was unplugging myself to get in the pool. Hey ho, know for next time.

Definately Elle Maternity Tens. Even use it now when I have back/neck ache. Definately worth the money for the use I have got out of it.

I think they are all much of a muchness really, it just depends on what you want. I rented the Boots one first time around and the bought the mamatens the second time around. It was important for me to choose the simplest looking machine as I didnt want to be fiddling with buttons when I was in pain. The Elletens looked a bit more complicated/more buttons. The Mamatens boost button is larger which was another consideration as I like to have the machine dangling around my neck. With a larger button I could grab and squeeze quickly-less chance of missing it with my eyes closed! The boots one was the simplest and given the choice I would have gone for that one again but second time around I wanted to buy rather than rent.

Both of them worked extremely well and I had them on for 22 hours with my first and 19 with my second, only needing gas and air towards the end.
