I'm just packing my hospital bag and a bag for hubby to bring in when with our clothes to go home in.

Does this sound ok/enough for baby? (due in December):
-short sleeve vest
-Socks
-Fleecy/towely babygrow/sleepsuit (long sleeves with feet included)
-scratch mitts
-hat
-Fleece blanket

Also how many vests, babygrows, and nappies would you pack for babies stay in hospital?

Thankyou!

You might need a warmer something on top too.

Ah, this is taking me back to DD1 when such questions were agonized over for hours. Poor DD2 left the hospital in whatever I had grabbed before leaving for the birth, and taken to the chinese take away on the way home so We could pick up some dinner

You don't need socks if the suit has feet in. I would pack a cardi or little jacket. How long are you staying in? I would be inclined to take at least 4 sleepsuits and vests so you can change them as needed because newborn babys can be messy! Also take plenty of knickers for you and more then one pair of trousers/pjs. I only took one as I was planning to get out in 6 hours (with dd3). Then I bled a lot so stayed for a few more hours during which time I had a really big blood loss which flooded out of my pants and pad and all over my trousers and bed. Had to sos dh to bring me more as a third time mother i should have known better!

I think I would also take some kind of coat or even snowsuit for the baby to come home in. I think I took 3 sleepsuits and vests in with me and that was enough as I was only in for one night. I believe I actually took a whole pack of nappies (!) She was my first and I had no idea how often she would need changing!! Of course that was far too many....I'd say maybe take 8 or 10 with you and if you run out you can ask someone to bring you more.
