Piles during childbirth...

I developed some lovely piles during labour with DS 2 years ago, however this time I've developed a whole crop of the BEFORE giving birth!

I'm really not looking forwards to dealing with them during labour (being induced on Weds at 39+6 due to SPD) any tips or tricks on what to do? I'm guessing that even with excessive application of anusol they're not going before then.

Am I just going to have to put up with them ahem...dangling during labour, and be glad that they'll be the least of my pains? I know I shouldn't be worried about them, but I really am

I had exactly the same predicament, naetha. Some spectacular piles before labour with dc2, following on from developing them after labour with dc1 3 years earlier. I have to say that during labour I didn't give them a second thought, but now ds is nearly 2 and they are still hanging around! Am resigned to have them in varying degrees for the rest of my life tbh

Think you will, I'm afraid, and I do sympathise! I asked mw for an icepack after the birth, and sat on it. It was bliss. ds is 7 weeks now, and they are so much better.

good luck on weds - they won't be at front of your mind, I promise.

I developed piles like i did not know were possible pushing for 2 hours when giving birth to DS1. Got them back with ds2 and the midwife very kindly rubbed prescription pile cream on them for me after giving birth The presecription stuff is stronger and has a local anaesthetic I think so takes the sting out better than the over the counter stuff.
