did you go into labour? baby no. 3 is now engaged, is it imminent?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Scorps · 19/11/2009 16:23

Sadly, no. Babies can pop in and out, stay engaged for weeks, not engage until labour...though it is good that baby is head down

How long until your EDD?

hamandegger · 19/11/2009 16:25

poo. 8 days. Baby is so low though feels like it could fall out at any time. The other two were late, so i didnt have my hopes up too much anyway.

DC2 has been 3/5-4/5 engaged for 5 weeks now, sorry!

Grendle · 19/11/2009 19:19

Currently 40+8 with dc3. Baby engaged at 37 weeks. In my experience, it means nothing.

Oh dear, I hope you both go into labour soon. It just feels so low at the moment, Ill have to be patient. It'll be in the nxt couple of weeks anyway I suppose. Just in time to dress the baby as a Christmas pudding.

What about if it's 0/5 palpable/5/5 engaged e.g. fully down? Does that make any difference with how long it will be? I am 40+4 today and was sent for a presentation scan on Friday as m/w couldn't feel any hea and was afraid he had turned vs fully engaged.. but head is down?

ShowOfHands · 22/11/2009 09:56

My dd was fixed and fully engaged for...

9 weeks.

MrsMattie · 22/11/2009 09:57

Nah. My first child was fully engaged at 35 weeks. I was induced at 42+5!

hamandegger · 23/11/2009 09:58

none of this is making me feel better! I've just had to do another school/nursery run of 'ooh are you still here' and 'no signs yet'.
