Ok so this is baby number 5 so you'd think I'd know by now Am 40+2 today, woke at 5 feeling odd and very uncomfy. Had show at 5.45 and have had a few contractions since, not lasting long but painful already.

Problem is dd - 3rd baby was very quick, 3hrs, planned HB but MW didn't make it on time so dp delivered her.

Ds- last baby, was another planned HB and was quick too, 2.5-3hrs again but I got them out quick that time!

This time though I'm going into hospital as I had a bit too much bleeding with ds and want to play it safe (looking forward to the rest too )

So when should I head in? If I ring I know I'll just get the ususal, have a bath take some paracetamol and call back when contractions are all under 5mins apart.Another problem being I don't do usual contractions, they can be all over the place until the last 30mins-hr before I deliver.Hospital is about 30mins away with no traffic.

WOuld you feel happier in the hospital or do you think it will slow things down?

stoppinattwo · 19/11/2009 06:39

hmmm problem is if you do leave it,it might take you longer to get into the hospital....rush hour traffic and all that

Give em a call and see what they say

excited

Not feeling great at the thought of going in but tbh I'd prob relax more just knowing I'm not going to give birth en route in the car!!

Think I'll give them a call in a min....Thank you

Good luck.

Haven't bothered calling yet as they pretty much stopped as I was about to ring but they are just picking up again, so had some breakfast, going for a quick shower then head off I think.

YES most definately the last !!

Number 4 was supposed to be the last though, oops

Keep us posted! Although you've probably had the baby by now..

Just to update - Baby Lottie was born at 16.09 on Thursday 19th and weighed 7lb 13oz

Labour started properly at 1pm - contractions were every 3mins from then until delivery so was about same length as last 2 labours after all!

Glad we got to hospital with plenty of time though. Meant I could relax, well as much as you can in labour lol.
