Assuming there are no complications, how long does the midwife stay with you after a homebirth?

Jack was born at 9am. The first midwife went home after I'd delivered placenta about 9.30 (she'd been on shift for 28 hours and was knackered bless her!) The second midwife stitched me up on sofa, checked Jack over and filled in paperwork and left about 11am.

Ds was born at 2.20pm....they both stayed while I was being stitched and then for a cuppa afterwards to see ds feed. Both gone and living room back to normal by 4.30pm

dd was born at 7.20pm, but she took 45 minutes to latch on, so they left just before 10pm by the time she fed, placenta, bath etc.

I've had two home births. Both times the midwives stayed for about two hours afterwards. They cleaned up, did paperwork, made sure babies fed and that I was OK.

Homebirths are lovely.

I think it was just under 2 hours. One left quite quickly but the other lingered but I think if I'd said, 'Nooooo Stay!' or 'Nooooo Go!' she would have done her best to accommodate me. It seemed a natural time to go and she was back the next day.
Baby born around 3.30pm and just us having sausage and mash at around 5.30pm.

umm, ds2 born at 11.55pm. Midwife arrived about 12.45am. Placenta was about half an hour after she arrived and I think I was in bed ready for sleep by 2am.

if you are worried, what about getting a doula?

I had a homebirth 13 days ago, DD born at 5.30pm, midwife left about 8pm ish.

A couple of hours here. It was shift change so we had three there for the birth, two of them left after about an hour, the other stayed a further hour.

They did my stiches, cleaned up, changed the sheets, ran me a bath, had a cuppa with us and checked DD was feeding fine then left us to it. Twas fab!
