If you have had more than one c/s, how many scars do you have?

I ask because I only realised the other day that I have 2 scars from 2 c/s, and inch apart!

Is this normal? I thought they went in the same scar?

First one a real 'ridge' (done by what looked from my side of blanket to be 16 yr old doing GCSE project under supervision of doc who actually removed child) - big stitches that needed taking out before I left hospital. Second overseas ob-gyny referred to it as my 'National Health Service Ridge' - she did a fantastic job of somehow folding the edges under and doing internal stitches that dissolved - so now no scar whatsoever

2 CS, 2 scars. 1st (emergency) 1 inch below pubic bone (dd revels in the fact that she was one of the few babies who were actually pushed back up ). 2nd (elective) 1 inch higher than first - but as it's on a fleshy bit there is a nice crease. Which matches the crease on my hideously flabby belly comfy round mummy-tummy .

3 sections and 1 abdominal operation - 1 scar

liahgen Well you never gave me any attention on facebook about it so thought someone else may be interested!

Now I find I am not the only one!

I am going to ask if it will be tidied up on the 3rd c/s

2 sections, 1 scar.....the 2nd doc didnt't like the look of the 1st scar..it was very bumpy! So he cut through and made it better-now not bumpy at all!!

liahgen · 12/11/2009 19:33

hehe, sorry abut that. Seems you're not that wierd after all.

Tidying up is a good idea,
