I really shouldn't be getting hopeful should I ? These are probably just BHs, but do seem to be stronger than previous occasions. I guess I've had 4 in the last hour or so.

Really, honestly you'd think that as this is Dc3 I'd have got the hang of it by now...

Well fingers crossed

alittleteapot · 09/11/2009 06:21

how's it going Grendle? I had this and ds was in my arms by 9.30pm!

alittleteapot · 09/11/2009 06:24

(I was 38+6 btw)

Grendle · 09/11/2009 14:34

Sadly, it wore off, just as I was getting a little hopeful. I don't think ti will be too much longer though, as this sort of thing is happening more and more. I sort of feel very ready now somehow too.

Once it all gets going then I'm expecting it to be quick, as dd was born within 2.5hrs of first twinge. I'm thinking an hour and a half labour would be just perfect .

OK wise ladies, I just had a little cervix rummage and unlike last week actually found the thing, so guess it's moved forward a bit (though still fairly hard to reach -short fingers methinks). I don't think it's open, but is very very soft -softer than it would usually be at ovulation. Is this just because it's dc3? Or would it have been hard at some point?

All right I feel weird now. In fact been feeling weird since shortly after last post.

I feel a bit nauseous and generally very uncomfortable. Sitting on a birth ball is more comfy, but then I tend to get BHs. Every now and again I think maybe I might need the loo... or maybe not.

I guess I might be coming down with a bug maybe? I don't think I've ever had this 'is it, isn't it' waiting stage before. The last 2 times I as clearly not anywhere near being in labour until I suddenly woke up in labour with dc2. Hurumph.

Thanks. Unfortunately seems I'm ill . Felt v hot and shivery all evening, but no temp. Then woke up at 5.30am and temp was 37.6. Still feeling nauseous and a bit dehydrated now too. Guess I have what the dcs had on Fri night when they both threw up . Really hope labour holds off now until I get better.

Well, I'm over the bug now, but still pregnant. Currently unable to sleep and feeling a little hot and now wheezy, but temp is normal, phew!

I seem to be having one mild tightening every half hour or so for the last few hours -up to 40 secs or so. I'm guessing it's just BH, although it is nice to have them back after zilch for a few days whilst I was ill.

good luck grendle - just remember, the more BHs you do the more "ready" your body is when the time comes.

Grendle · 15/11/2009 20:05

Sticking with my self-indulgent little thread. This evening I seem to be having more regular BHs every 5 mins or so at the moment, but varying in intensity. This is rather similar to how things kicked off with dd, so now pondering whether this might be the start of something ... or perhaps I simply need a no.2 .

Glad you are over the bug. Sounds hopeful on the BH front. This is my 3rd too and it seems to be more on and off niggly than the last two times - lots of BHs Saturday and Sunday then crampy ones on and off last night. Don't know where I am either! Will watch your progress with interest.

Grendle · 16/11/2009 10:19

Well, BHs continued all evening, stronger than previously and every 5-10 mins. Also had at least 3 loo trips. Went to bed at 11ish and eventually went to sleep. Woke at 1.30 feeling v uncomfy. Went to loo again and baby meanwhile going bananas, but seemingly v low in my bottom. Pottered around for about an hour, not really sure I was having contractions, but v uncomfy. Eventually went back to bed. Woke up this morning and had another loo trip (sorry tmi!) and felt a bit sick. Definitely not ill, though. Had a cup of tea, but couldn't face breakfast. Sitting at kitchen table had 4-5 fairly decent BHs every 5 mins or so. Since then, nothing of interest. Have now had some food and a cup of tea.

Tbh, I don't know where I am. Last night was just like how things kicked off with dd, but it never got going. I'm now 40+5 and waiting for the MW to come for a routine visit.

I just want to know what on earth is going on!!!!

Sounds like it's all kicking off, albeit slowly and gently. It's so suspenseful those last few days of pregnancy, and then suddenly you're in the cut and thrust of life with a newborn with time gushing by at the speed of light. Savour the last quiet moments you'll have for a while, rest well and good luck!

alittleteapot · 21/11/2009 10:56

have you had your baby Grendle? Hope all is well and you are getting some rest!

madmissy · 21/11/2009 11:00

yes she had a dd not last night the night before i think it was fast labour i think she said

alittleteapot · 22/11/2009 21:41

Hurray! Congratulations Grendle!
