Almost 6 wks post section and bleeding again

Sorry if too much information but wanted the advice of Mumsnet.

I will be 6wks post section on Monday and today I have started bleeding more again. The bleeding had almost stopped completely, but is back today not really heavy as in not soaking through towels or anything but def more than it was, It isn't smelly or anything and is bright red. Do I need to go and see about it or is this normal?

I have had 2 sections and was bleeding on and off both times for 8weeks. Just when i thought it had stopped it would come back.

I had this too - stopping then starting again. Don't think it happened as late as 6 weeks but I definitely had the on/ off thing.

If you are not BFing, it could well be a first period.

If you are at all unwell/feverish, the blood smells bad (not just blood smell, but offensive, horrible stink) or you have any pain, you should have it checked out.

If you are in any doubt, get in checked out in RL.

FWIW, I bled for about 4 weeks after CS, it then stopped completely. But, as with all things babymaking-related, everybody is different.

BTW I googled it when it happened to me and it seems pretty normal HTH
