How do I either get things moving or make them stop?

I am 36 weeks, and for the past three days have been getting loads of BH and the odd really painful contraction. The painful ones are very gradually getting more frequent (eg today I have had 5 up to now, that is about how many I had all day yesterday) and are painful enough to make me kind of zone out and have to remember to breathe and all that.

My boobs are actually dripping with colostrum, I have had a little show, I feel all restless (yet somehow also exhausted) and my appetite has gone. Baby has been engaged for a couple of weeks. Also I have a watery discharge, although that has been checked out and apparently isn't waters, just some kind of unidentified discharge

It is my second baby, my first came at 36 weeks, and this time I have to have a section due to complications last time.

I know I'm early, so don't really mind if stuff stops for a couple of weeks (although obviously it would be lovely to have the baby asap as long as she is ok) but this constant being nearly there is doing my head in! Also the contractions are bloody painful, considering they aren't going anywhere.

Would you be trying to bring things on or trying to stop things? And how?

Does this count you out of a half term meet up?

A warm bath should help slow things down I think, help ease BH etc.

Is half term next week? (spot the mother of a preschooler!) In which case, God knows! I have a meeting with my consultant about the section on Monday, part of me is hoping he discovers some non-dangerous complication that requires the section to be done immediately...

Sorry ur havin pains wit nout doin i had BH for 2wks b4 my 2nd he came, a wk & half early, i rem complain bout them but dont think they were as painfull as ur describin... Hav ya seen ur midwife/ob lately?? Cause ur havin a section Make sure to tell them even if its jus a phone call to keep them n da loop, jus n case it all of a sudden kicked off... U cud call da outpatients n ur maternity hosp if ur worried jus to b on da safe side... As far a i know i dont think there are really many or any natural ways to stop progressin but raspberry leaf tea, a walk, warm bath, massaging aromatherapy oils esp lavender & clearys sage around ur stomach legs & back r ways to help bring it on a lil... But at 36 wks ud prob want baba to hav another wk if possible ya? Best of luck hope the pain eases off for now...
