On the off chance that anyone's about!!! Think that baby might be making an early arrival. Woke at 1am, my waters have broken and having mild contractions. Tried to get back to sleep - no chance! Have left DP in bed and wondered if there would be anyone about at this daft time!

Not sure when I should phone hospital? AM guessing will do that when things get more exciting?!

good luck. I went into labour at 1 am. have some paracemtomol and go back to sleep if you can!

lal123 · 13/10/2009 03:21

am wanting to save the paracetemol until things get sorer! Though by then paracetemol aren't likely to do much good!

I'd see if you can get some sleep if you can if your contractions are mild

But exciting for you!

i'd take the paras now. next time you wake up, get your dp to put on the tens machine. if you're anything like us, you'll spend a happy hour arguing over how it works

lal123 · 13/10/2009 03:28

tens machine - knew I'd forgotten something! Baby not due til 26th - tens machine still in BabysRUs..... Don't think they'd still be open?

my waters broke at 1am, serious labour began at 3am, and DD arrived at 6am.
Don't wait too long!

PumpkinsCantDanceTheTango · 13/10/2009 03:35

lol at babysrus being open - they should be! So inconsiderate of them to close at a time like this.

Hope all goes well

Usual advice is to call when they're four minutes apart and last a minute. Or if you're concerned about something/not coping.

Good luck!

still here. Phoned midwife unit at about 5 - contractions getting to the "bloody hell" stage. MW advised to get ready to go, got DP up, had shower etc and since then (apart from another gush of waters at about 6.30 and a couple of mild contractions - NOTHING. Typical!!!

Knickers0nMaHead · 13/10/2009 07:16

good luck!

CarmenSanDiego · 13/10/2009 07:38

I had similar to this. Really hard contractions for ages, then about 3-4 hours of just mild ones so I could doze and rest. Then they hit again and baby was born about 2-3 hours later.

Just enjoy the break, rest yourself and wait for them to start again? Hopefully you'll have your baby today!

FABIsInTraining · 13/10/2009 07:39

Good luck.

flyingcloud · 13/10/2009 07:43

lal123 · 13/10/2009 07:44

well DD up now - so will get her sorted and down to her grans for the day and just wait for things to pick up again. Hope DP hasn't taken the day off work for nothing!
