After pains and stitches

I gave birth to my daughter on Friday, she cam out so fast that I have a second degree tear, and I know that this is not so bad as others have gone through, but I am a total wuss and not enjoying the discomfort of the stitches.
Also the after pains (this is my 5th dc) are a killer.
I thought the after pains would stop by now, instead they seem worse. At first I got them when breastfeeding, but now they hit me at random times. I can't talk, and can barely breathe when I have them. I haven't been given any painkillers for them, and have taken paracetomol/ibuprofen for them. I need something stronger, can someone please recommend something that I can get over the counter?
Also how long before the stitches heal?
I feel such a miserable cow, even though dd is gorgeous, so cute. I think the blues have hit today, have just cried because no-one thinks she looks like me.

Codeine. Or get a script for voltarol and cocodamol.

Mine were awful after DC4, absolutely dreadful.

I used to ask my (now ex)husband to let me kick him during afterpains with DC2.

I will readily admit to having an extravagantly low pain theshold, but the afterpains with DC3 were truly something else. Hobbgoblin I actualy went to the walk in centre to ask for voltarol but they refused to give it to me as I as bf. Next time I plan to ask for something whilst still in hospital as it actually negatively affected my bf - I kept having to take DD off as the contractions were so painful.

After Pains! You mean there is more pain to come post-birth. Argh! As you may have guessed I am pregnant with my first child.

if the after pains are still so bad, I think you should see your midwife or doctor and make sure everything is alright.

I also found the after pains worse then the birth, but that was probably because I was losing an abnormal amount of blood. I took paracetamol and ibuprofen but it didn't touch the pain. But as I said, it wasn't normal either.

isitbabyorpie, the uterus has to contract back down again, from the size of a beach ball to the size of a tangerine. With your fist baby it's usually not so bad. It's just a bit like early labour pains again. You can take painkillers for it. I barely felt it.

Then there's the ache from the stitches, the cs wound possibly, the piles, the sore nipples, the muscle aches, the night sweats.

You know the baby makes up for the discomfort and there may be no discomfort.
