Got a text this morning around 7.30am...the new little tigercub is on her way

Pacing up and down waiting for news. I can't wait

ps. Things are going slowly so not expecting news soon, that said she was told recently that this baby would not be making an appearance soon yet she is now in labour, so who knows.

Hello

A thread for meeeeeeeee, how lovely

It was a bit of a slog but with a very good outcome.

It went something like this...

First ctx 4am on Sunday
Regular but not that strong all morning
Died away a bit at lunchtime
Took dd1 to friend's birthday party Sunday afternoon
Ctx start again in earnest Sunday teatime
Ring labour ward 9pm, advised to come in
Ring inlaws, wait for them to arrive
Arrive labour ward 12.30am, ctx regular (3 in 10 mins) but not that strong.
Boing on birthing ball for farking ages
Examined and found to be a whole 3cm dilated
5.30am Monday dh sent home and I am sent to the maternity ward to try and get some sleep
Ctx still regular but not that strong, manage to doze between them for two or three hours
9.30am DH back at hosp, examined again and found to be 6cm - hurrah! thought I, baby by lunchtime.
Moved back to labour ward
Boing on birthing ball for a bit while pool is filled
Midday - got in the pool. Utter, utter bliss. Ctx get stronger but further apart. Eventually slow to one every 10 mins or so but god they HURT. Tolerating the pain very well in the water though, no other pain relief.
5pm - examined again and I haven't dilated so much as half a centimetre more. Decide to stay out of the water to see if it's the water that's stopped things.
6pm - ARM
7pm - STILL farking 6cm
Syntocin drip, I am knackered and have had more than enough and want it all over with
Syntocin gradually increased until dd2 shoots out at 9.19pm.
Much relief all round, esp because the doc thought she might be stuck and I had started to panic about that.

I was shattered, very little sleep and in pain for two days, I found the syntocin really hard to tolerate, so very painful, but managed with just G&A in the end. A LOT of G&A

First stage was best part of 40 hours
Second stage was 4 mins!!!

dd2 is Isabel Florence, she was 9 days overdue, 7lb 5.5oz

dd1 is largely ignoring the fact that she has a new sister

dh and I are utterly loved up

Thanks for all the good wishes
