Isn't the nesting supposed to happen BEFORE the birth?

Baby born on Monday by emCS, so why have I had the sudden need tonight to clean the washing machine drawer with baking soda and descale the coffee maker (among other things)?

That day 3 or 4 crying jag/baby blues thing hasn't happened either. Should I still be expecting it or count myself lucky?

With dd3 I got the baby blues at day 6/7. Dh went off to London and I was fine. By the time he got home that night I was waiting in tears on the other side of the front door! So you still may hit them - but it will pass.

I think your cleaning arises from a tremndous feeling of wellbeing and energy that some people get after an exhausting and tdraining time. It's nature's high as a compensation and extra boost to keep you going - but don't push yourself too hard. You've just had a baby and a major op so clean away - but sit down and drink and eat too!
