i am going in for an induction on the 8th sept will be 39+5, i have GD and was wondering how long will i have to stay in hospital? I bloody hate them and will want to get home asap! Plus i have a ds who is 3 and a half and dont want to be away from him too long.

I've got GD too - due the beginning of October.

I am under the impression that I will be kept in until the baby is at least 24 hours old (due to monitoring bloods etc). Am desperately hoping it won't be any longer as I feel the same way about hospitals as you do, ans also have a 2.5 yr old that i'll be missing!

Sorry, could I just ask what GD is?
