But I was just wondering if when you have had a CS do you still bleed vaginally? And if so is it as bad as after a vaginal birth?

yes you do and no its not because they do 'hoover' a lot of the gunk out.

I bled after both of my c-s's, and also after both vbs. I did not notice that it was less after c-s, I always bleed for ages, more than anyone else I know.
I must have a huge uterus.

you do because you are bleeding from where the placenta was attached.. it is basically an open wound once it detaches.. so yes, you will bleed.

the bleeding i had after my c.s and v.b were the same.

my 3 sections were so much less bleedy afterwards. The vbac beeling went on for weeks n weeks.

Interesting....I can't speak for vaginal births, but I had an emCS on Monday, and within 24 hours the bleeding had subsided to the level of a regular medium period. Now it's gone to being like a light period and I swapped to regular Always instead of maternity towels after just a few days--simply did not need the bulk of those ridiculous ones I'd bought in preparation for vaginal delivery. Friends who delivered vaginally were saying they had to use two of those at a time! Eeek.

I am breastfeeding, am thinking that can make some difference in bleeding? Maybe if your uterus contracts faster you bleed less?
