Late Baby -being induced.

My first child was induced at 42 weeks two and a half years ago. I am expecting my second baby in August. Does anyone have any theories on how likely it is for a second baby to be induced also - ie: be tardy like its sibling - because I just can't imagine ever doing that rush to the hospital...

It is highly possible that you will be induced second time around. My eldest was induced and so was my second, eldest at 42 weeks, although they said I was having mild contractions when I went in. My youngest was induced at 41 weeks because he was such a big baby and literally had no more room to move, it is not a very comfortable procedure. Also with my eldest I was in labour for nearly 23 hours, but my second i was only in labour for about 6 hours, theres me thinking it would be the same second time round, not at all!. Ask your midwife what their opinion is about this, as my own GP who monitored me both times said I probably would have to be induced second time round and he was right.
