Hi all,

Any help and advise gratefully received.

SIL booked for induction yesterday (14 days overdue). She has been waiting in a queue at St. Thomas' in London ever since. Nothing happening.

She has now lost the plot and in breaking down.

My brother, her husband, is back at home crying with his 3 year old.

I've called and left a message withg South London midwives who delivered all mine.

What can I do? What can they do?

God love her. Dreadful.

Such a shame she wouldn't go home - she prob might have felt a bit better in her own environment.

Hopefully you will have good news this morning.

Any news? Hope they're all ok xx

Crossing my fingers for you all for today Spidermama

Thanks all for your support.

She finally got into the home from home birth unit at St Thomas's, had two doses of the gel, and after that a really smooth labour with just gas and air. She and DB are now saying that after the horrendous stress of the ante natal unit, the actual labour and birth could not have gone better.

I brought their 3 year old dd into hospital yesterday to meet her new brother for the first time, and we are all absolutely over the moon. (Not to say massively relieved!!!)

Thanks again. x

Fantastic, so happy that everything went well for the actual birth. What a shame the run up was so distressing for them.

Buda · 12/08/2009 16:19

Great news! So did you get to cuddle a new, soft baby with sweet smelling hair?

Was the mw shortage a swine flu thing?
