Just wandering, I wasn't tested when I had dd 3yrs ago, is it routine now?

Not where I am (Hertfordshire).

No, it isn't. You can test privately at around 37 weeks at a cost of £35.

No one has mentioned it here (yet? am 33wks) in Dorset, I was just wandering how people found out they had it....I remember there were posters up in the hospital after I had dd and me thinking 'what on earth is that?'-it looked quite serious/important.

Ah, thanks Zuzi. Has anyone paid for the test? What made you have one if you did?

I got a routine swab taken after thrush infection at about 20 wks and was found out to be a carrier. Complete coincidence.

Also, I am going to pay at 37 weeks just to confirm as I am experimenting with alternative methods.
