Bleeding after birth

I gave birth four weeks ago, and my bleeding had gradually tailed off to brownish/yellowish mucusy stuff (sorry TMI!).

Today I had bright red blood again, and I wondered if this is normal? I've been more active over the past week, so I don't know if that could be an issue. Just want to get back to normal!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I had 2 c-section births & found that I bleed for a few weeks at least.

I did experience fresh blood the first few times I 'over did' it tho.

Everyone's different but might be worth getting checked. For me it turned out I had some old accumulated blood stuck inside, possibly from a bit of placenta left, & had to have a D&C 5wks after the birth. Obviously you want to avoid any kind of infection "down there". Try to avoid plastic-backed sanity protection just in case until you know one way or the other, as the plastic keeps the area warm & can encourage infection. Maternity pads are made of breathable material so are much better.

I think if your mucusy stuff went from blood to brownish/yellowish back to fresh blood, you should phone up NHS 24/7 or give your doctor a phone call, could be an infection?

Best to get checked out just in-case

Thanks for the advice, will give NHS 24 a call just to be on the safe side.
