Did you have your first sweep at 11-14 days past your EDD?

If so when did you have it and did it work?

No I had it a few days before my EED. Went into labout at 40+1, so don't think it worked.

No if they work then you are supposed to go into labour within 72 hours.

I had one at EDD+3. It had no discernable effect (well apart from nearly making my eyeballs pop out and my cervix retract into my throat)

I ended up going into labour at 40+6. Pretty sure this would have happened anyway without the sweep.

Had one today at 9 days past EDD. Don't know if it's worked yet!

I was told that they have most effect the later you leave them, BUT that often you need a 2nd. Most sweeps, if they're going to work, will do so within 48 hours (apparently ), so here they schedule you a sweep, then a back-up sweep 48 hours later.

Mine was today rather than later so that they could get the 2nd sweep scheduled for Friday afternoon, when I'll be 11 days overdue - there isn't a clinic at weekends and I'll be 42w0 on Monday. I have actually got a third sweep scheduled for Mon, just in case, but it's at the hospital, along with monitoring (I want a home birth so am avoiding induction as far as possible). I don't know if they'd have left it till later if it hadn't been for the weekend...
