Advice of TENS machines

Hi

Looking for some advice on which TENS machine to buy. Am planning to order from the Boots website, and wondered if anyone had experience of the machines there- in particular, is it worth going for the most expensive Babycare machine at £70 or would the £45 Boots version be just as good. Am happy to pay the extra if it is likely to be any better.

Sorry, also I would like to know if I should buy the additional adhesive pads too.

I have rented the boots one from their website. In the past i've got them from the store, but my local one didn't have any this time. I've never bought spare pads -they're sticky enough to be used several times so long as you put them carefully back on the plastic sheet after each use. So you can have a practise with it as well as have a couple of false alarms and still be fine. i ordered the more expensive one, which i've tried out and it seems great and easy to use.

I've rented one from Boots, sticky pads were fine but BUY MORE BATTERIES!
Even though they give you a spare set, you'll go through them so fast - especially when you realise it goes higher than 5 . Standard AA ones so not a problem if you don't use them.

I bought the Boots one with DD1 and hated it. Too complicated with too many levels. Didn't work my way through the levels quickly enough and so it became useless.
With DD2 i was recommended this one and it was brilliant.

don't bother with spare electrode pads, they stay quite sticky.

I would rent rather than buy. I rented from Boots and didn't use spare pads. Make sure you have a practice and extra batteries for sure.

Tamba, why would you rent? I have, and probably will again but if you rent twice it's about the same price. If you hate it the first time you could sell it on ebay?

well i bought first time and it was a mistake, i didn't get on with it at all and ended up renting another second time round.

also by the time you have bought new electrodes, batteries etc. each time renting doesn't seem so expensive.

I rented as I was giving birth for the second time and expecting it to be my last. £29 is definitely better than £45 if you are pretty confident it's a one time only deal.

yeah, fair enough. It's just that if you do plan to use it twice it makes sense to buy - suppose no-one knows! Hadn't thought about replacing the pads, but yes of course you'd need to.
