Flat fronted disposable briefs

Does anyone know where to buy disposable briefs with flat fronts? All the ones I've seen have gathered elasticated waists that I think would cut across a cesarean scar (should I need one). Wanted to get some in just in case. TIA.

Could you settle for cheapo non-disposable briefs? There are loads of "granny knickers" with high waists available in a supermarket near you.

I know exactly what you mean, got mine from jo jo maman bebe and they had that bit across which irritated me- just a tip but when i wore them i wore a maternity pad over the scar to stop this which also helped to protect the wound. My midwife started this in hospital so i carried it on until i felt brave enough to go without. Because the knickers are breathable and the pads absorbant they didn't stop the wound from keeping dry. Ask at the hospital for extra pairs if they give you a pair after your first shower and wash and re-use them, they're comfier than any i could see to buy and no elastic over the tummy.

Oh, also- once i could go without the breathable ones i switched to primark full briefs in a size 20. I'm a 12 usually but they come up a bit small and allowed for residual bump! They're black cotton but still felt they were too irritating to wear in the first couple of weeks, when you want the lightest stretchy fabric that moves with you, like the hospital pants. Good luck!

NCT sell some 'mesh' type ones for caesareans - they're really good - come up to your bellybutton and are designed not to roll down onto the wound.

Agree with OldLady - I bought cheapo pants from Primark (something like 5 pairs for £4) which are nearly as cheap as disposable ones. Just chucked them away with the pads if too icky...

I had Sainsbury's ones, which were elasticated but came up MUCH higher than cs scar. Found them very comfy after cs and much better than normal pants for the first week or so, as the material barely touched the wound and didn't rub at all.

just use your old pants, no need to spend money

Thanks for your replies guys. My old pants are all low so I'd have to get some new ones anyway. Good tip about the NCT, I'll have a look at those as well as Primark.
