First Period after birth - Normal to be heavy?

I just got my first period after having my child 7 weeks ago.

Its bright red and very heavy.. is this normal?

Yes from what i can remember DD now 15mths that my first one was really heavy and went on for longer.

Have you had your 6wk check yet? You could mention it then if you are concerned...

Congrats on new baby BTW

Mine was too. Lasted almost 10 days. Sounds normal but you can ask you HV/midwife.

mine was just normal - no pain and not heavy - perfect

Very heavy and painful. It took about 3 periods to return to normal.

Hi, I think when I got my first period post baby I posted a message saying "bloodbath - help me"!!

I swear that mine took 10 months to go back to normal - its been a nightmare!

Oatcake - Love the post title!! Had I been a MNer then I think I would have posted the same! Mine was v v heavy, but has gradually got lighter as the months go by.....
