Is there any point in pushing to be on an MLU for VBAC?

I am seeing my consultant this week to discuss my VBAC. Someone has suggested to me that I should try to get onto the MLU at my local hospital.

It sounded like a good idea (hospitals freak me out) until I remembered that when DD was born it was midwives - admittedly on a CLU - who did lots of the things to me that I won't be up for this time - CFM, ARM, threatening me with episiotomy before I was even pushing (which stalled my labour), rolling their eyes when I moo-ed, telling me I had to stay on the bed etc - I could go on and on.

So do you think it is worth pushing to get onto the MLU (I expect to have to push since I won't meet their low risk criteria)? Can I expect something different from the midwives there? Are protocols for dealing with women different on an MLU?
