Well I never ever ever expected to go over due date!!!! For a number of reasons I wanted a vbac this time around and while I was happy for it to end in a section if necessary I still wanted to try and to give lo a chance to say she was actually ready to come. My ob. wanted to section me on my due date which I fought and made a deal that I could go to 41 weeks and if no further ahead then I would allow a section. 3 Different consultants have said induction is inadvisable and that going over 41 weeks in my case is high risk. Hospital have rung today and due to theatre availability want to section me on Wednesday instead of Friday. Feeling a bit shocked and wee bit down about it all and just wish I would go into labour today or tomorrow so I can still at least give it a go! Sorry to moan, just not what I was hoping for.

So sorry to hear this is not going how you had hoped it would. Obviously things might take off before Wednesday....fingers crossed for you.

If you have to have the repeat section, you'll go in knowing you did what you could....you even persuaded your ob to let you have more time...which is not always easy to do!

Wishing you a smooth birth, however it may be.

thanks doulalc, I have known right through that they thought a vbac would be in vain and it would prob end in a section I just so wanted to give things a go if even for a short time and as you say have given her as much time as I could (a good 2 weeks more than ds got so at least I know she won't be undercooked so to speak) I even started a very hopeful thread the other night thinking things might be underway but it all petered out.

Am in the same boat as you if it helps to have a bit of solidarity. have c sec sceduled for Friday but think consultant may want to move things forward when I see her tomorrow. It's like some kind of weird mind test hoping that labour will start and reading so much into every twinge.
