I'm going stir crazy. I am 38 + 3 and this is the longest I have ever been pregnant. Both my 2 previous dc came at exactly 37 weeks. I was convinced this one would too. Now every day is like torture looking for symptoms of labour. I know I am not even due yet, so I can't even begin to sympathise with you guys who are over due. Just wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company during these long days.....

MN to the rescue - I have become an over opinionated monster!!! I have to fill my days somehoe - Sorry everyone

I am due tomorrow, but went overdue with DD1 by 2 weeks last time. Its a really miserable phase and all I do is analyse every twinge in case its the beginning of labour. All through the night I have fretful dreams abour childbirth. I'm weepy and grumpy and uncomfortable... Its hard going all right but we have to tell ourselves that its inevitable, but we have to wait till its time.

horrible isn't it? i was 2 weeks over with my first and i hated it.
second time round I convinced myself baby would be at least a week late, so it was nice when I went into labour the day after my due date!!!

this time I already can't wait and I still have 4.5 weeks to go

i'll join! i am due on Sunday, but last night had loads of contractions and thought that this was it...ha ha they just fizzled out. can hardly bear it, feel so knackered, heavy, grumpy, weepy...and so guilty because DDs 1 and 2 have been sent off to their granny's AGAIN because i can't cope.

moan moan moan moan...

cloveofhislife · 01/05/2009 16:50

Now I don't feel so bad! Thanks ladies
Generally I have felt really upbeat, but today I have been sooo weepy. I couldn't stop crying this morning! DP asked me if I faniced going to a beer festival tonight (hello??) and when I said no, he said he'd ask his mate instead. Great! So much for loving support after a whole week of a dreadful cold and end of pregnancy blues.

Been trying all the old faithfuls to get this labour kick started, so realised that unless it's ready, it's not gonna make an appearance!

oh but WHY dont you want to go to a beer festival tonight???? It sounds like just the sort of thing a heavily preg woman would want to go to! what a plonker, they really have no idea, do they?

i have had a few twinges, isn't it bizarre that i am WILLING the pain to start!

cloveofhislife · 01/05/2009 17:05

I know! The chance of trying all those different ales and lagers. It was difficult to turn it down I can tell you!!

And me too!!! I am so willing this pain. Every twinge I welcome and want more. Then they disappear again....

am so with you! am sure i just had a proper pain, but realistically its because i've been sat in this uncomfortable chair surfing for hours. bring on the agony!

neolara · 01/05/2009 18:17

God, that's my absolute nightmare. Both of mine arrived at 37 weeks and if the current bump doesn't turn up then, I'm going to be absolutely gutted.

Perfectly reasonable to moan!

cloveofhislife · 01/05/2009 19:00

I was / am gutted, because I was convinced this one would be the same. My dds were good weights at 37 weeks too (7lbs 4oz and 8lbs!), which made me think all the more that 37 weeks was my natural gestation. I was expecting it every day from that date, and every day has been a waiting game, analysing symptoms.

Now all I can think is that I could go over due....

Bring on the pains!!!!

Lol about beer festival invitation! What an eejit! Am going to try nipple/breast stimulation with my breast pump later, and no doubt go down whole list usual things to do to induce labour...

cloveofhislife · 02/05/2009 09:52

Hey shellki, did the nipple stimulation work? What else did you try?
Any pains redrobin?
Nothing here. Tried 2 drops of clary sage on my pillow last night and internal EPO over night. Nada....

Well, I tried it last night before bed and started getting contractions and the need to go to the toilet a lot. When I went there was blood etc. Contractions continued all through morning every 15-10 mins and have now stopped, so am feeling quite miffed. Will have another go with breast pump later... grrrr
