Hair removal before C-section?

Do I need to got for a Brazilian or will a short back and sides do?!

Was planning to remove hair from around/below the existing scar with Veet (had an emergency section last time and have vague memory of MW armed with a bic razor but not much more). Will that be enough?

it just needs to be the top inch or two of your pubes

God, I went for the full eyebrows, armpits, legs, rude bits - I figured if he was only going to see flesh, it was going to look good! Almost had airbrush tan as well.

The midwife did it for me both times to be honest - don't think i could do it under bump very effectively myself.

She did joke with second that i could have a brazilian if i wanted!

The mw done it for me at em cs, but going in for elective in two weeks and razors are out already - it will be the last thing i do (or dh might have to do! ) before leaving for he hosp! Will be taking it to just under my scar.

At my emergency cs they shaved the top of my pubes - but they haven't really grown back as there's a stretch mark down the middle!! . Wasn't until I could se them again that I realised.

aoifesmama · 18/05/2009 23:29

I had an emergency CS because heartbeat stopped and they didnt have time to shave . Caused slight problems a few weeks after with hairs on wound! Just the top is fine.

Just be careful using hair removal cream near your section scar. I used a well known brand not so long ago and it burn through my scar

My scar is nearly seven years old btw!

I had a regular wax, but got them to remove the top bit right down to the pubic bone. It was a bit nippy, especially as you're not allowed Ibuprofen when preggers

I got hubby to shave me to quite low down the night before my section - this was fine and I didn't need any further trimming in hospital plus it was probably much more comfy than any midwife with a bic!!

mumblecrumble · 19/05/2009 22:45

Next time, if have section will use cream as much as possible on botty bits cos man I didn;t DARE for months aftewards. I was like a monkey.....

peachygirl · 23/05/2009 21:36

I would advise doing some sort of trim a couple of days beforehand. I was waiting til the night before my elective to shave, then went into labour two days two days early and had to suffer the midwife and the nasty dry pink bic razor.

I'm contemplating a wax if I have to have another
