I'm 40+3 with no sign of labour & suddenly very impatient!

Okay...so I know there are ladies much more 'overdue' than me...but I'm going to whinge anyway in the hope writing it down will make me feel better!

I was due on Friday...but nothing...and have still had no indication that this baby may venture into the world any time soon! No show, no braxton hicks, no diarrhea, no topsy-turvy emotions...nothing at all.
Over the last week, I have had much more pain on my pubic bone but then I know baby's head is partially engaged (3/5 at 40wk check) so guess that's just normal, and not a sign of anything.

I have been very active, and will embark on a long walk again this afternoon. I know baby will just come when it's ready, but it's suddenly occurred to me that could be another few weeks and I'm quite depressed at the prospect! I'm ready to meet baby now...

Sex is out of the question to encourage it...poor DH has been without it for so long during this pregnancy, he'd probbaly think I'd cracked! Will try the various other 'techniques' but unconvinced they will have a real effect.

Will I definitely have a 'show' before anything happens? Is that likely to be my first sign of movement...?

Midwife booked for next Friday at 41wks, and will elect for a sweep if nothing has happened...but really hoping baby decides to arrive before then.

Don't really expect any replies...just feeling impatient!

I know it isn't what you want to hear, but having had late babies and early babies, can I just say enjoy this relative freedom that you still have.

Saying that, I hope you meet your baby soon.

Book yourself a lovely pedicure or manicure - baby is bound to want out to interrupt that!! xxx

I had DD at 41+5 - no show, my waters broke in teh middle of the night. I too was very impatient by then, having convinced myself very early on that she would be early as DS had arrived on DD. I put her final arrival down to fresh pineapple - it's worth a go! Good luck and as MuffinBaker says enjoy your last ferw days and get as much rest/sleep as you can!!

same due date flirtythirty - I've had plenty of signs - BH, painful contractiony things, bit of show etc - but its still not here and i feel the same about the prospect of another two weeks of this.

have tried the walks, sex, time alone with my rabbit etc etc but nothing doing.

sweep tomorrow - sooo hoping mw can say that some progress has been made but not much we can do about it if it hasnt. sorry - can only sympathise.

ds arrived at 40+6 with no particular previous signs other than some BH, so dont worry about the no other symptoms. could still come any time.

Another same due date... it is annoying waiting, isn't it!! My first was almost 2 weeks over so I'm trying to be patient but it is hard!

Some people don't have many signs until right before the birth, so fingers crossed you will meet your little one soon!

I'm due one day after you FlirtyThirty and in a similar boat. Been having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions and tried the following:
Sex
Long walks
Raspberry tea (though mixed with pomegranate)
Vindaloos

Nothing seems to be working. Spent most of today on my feet deep-cleaning the kitchen, bathroom and our spare bedroom. Still nothing!

Now considering taking a trip into central London tomorrow for lunch (I live in Croydon). Sod's law dictates that I will go into labour as soon as I am about to tuck into my yummy dim-sum
