Has anyone used the new midwife led unit at Bolton hospital?

I'm due on May 9th with my 3rd baby and havent done a tour etc so was wondering what it was like.
I had my 2DS in the birthing pool at the hospital which was great (as can be!)

thanks

No, but as one who was brought up (not born) in Bolton I find this development very interesting.
My youngest sister was born in 1968 in a midwife led 'maternity home' somewhere in Bolton which was closed in the 70s to transfer all births to the main hospital.

So they've gone full circle and back to midwife led!

when i had my dss who are 5 and 2 they had a lovely birthing pool suite which had been recently been built.
I think the new unit has only opened within the last year the rooms are meant to have pools an beanbags memory foam mattressess etc, but ive never got round to seeing it.
Apparently Bolton maternity hospital is having millions spent on it to make it into some sort of maternity super centre over the next couple of years. but who knows!!!

Meh, I live about five miles the wrong direction to get into there!

Hoping for a homebirth under Fairfield in Bury.

sounds nice.

My midwife asked me if i wanted a home birth but with the 2 children and 1 crazy dog (who i imagined running off with the placenta) dont think its wise.

Good luck
