Linea Negra - when will it go?

My little girl is 4 weeks old tomorrow, I still have a linea negra like a zip from between boobs to pubic bone! A friend saw it and thought it was my section scar :-)

I read it will 'fade eventually' but how long are we talking about here? It doesn't bother me particularly I just wondered as I thought it might go by now!

thank you

From my experience it can last quite a while - its a pigmentation that gets into the skin and (as far as I could tell) it will stay visible until all the skin cells affected have matured, died and been exfoliated. Not sure if that helps, but you may be able to help things along by exfoliating and moisturising a lot.

Some women have it for 2-3 months afterwards...others for quite a few months longer but it usually will get progressively lighter and lighter.

thanks ladies - I gave it a rub in the shower in case it was just on the surface but I figure it is like a freckle or something. I don't mind anyway cos it's not like I am going to be wearing a bikini any time soon
