...did you have natural births (non intervention rather than no drugs) with subsequent babies?

Bit of a niche question I know, but thanks in advance.

DD 9lbs 1oz back to back :hideous labour ventouse delivery episiotomy +stiches

DS 9lbs 9oz at home on hands and knees seemed to slip out (relatively!) small tear healed naturally with no stitches

Better 2nd delivery due to baby position but also to no pethidine/epidural, my position on all fours but mainly the lack of fear-I was terrified with DD

I had an episiotomy and forceps with ds (9lb 7oz), due dd in 9 weeks time and I'm a bit scared! It's reassuring to read that so many people had better subsequent labours - ds was induced and I had an epidural, which I think was most of the problem. With dd I'd like to have an active/water birth, so I hope that helps.

Like TeenyTiny and a couple of others, I had DD with forceps, episiotemy and 2nd degree tear - she was 9lb 3oz.
Got 'mode of delivery' consultation next week but erring towards natural delivery seeing how many of you had a better time second time around.

Rugbywidow, this 'mode of delivery' consultation - how did you get it? Did you just request one? Was it fairly easy to get?

DS was 9lbs, long labour, epidural, ventouse and episiotomy. DD was smaller - 8lbs 5 and was born quickly and easily, no intervention or pain relief needed. I think DS had 'paved the way' as it were!
The main reasons for the ventouse etc the first time was that DS's head was very big and apparently my tissues just weren't stretching. Most people do seem to have a much easier time with second babies. Good luck!
