Disappointed no c section today

Really disappointed, went into hosp this morning for planned c section for breech & baby has turned so am now at home waiting for labour to start...

I know I didn't want one initially but by this morning I had got my head round it & was looking forward to having my baby with me tonight. I know its for the best & it avoids an operation but can't help feeling a bit down.

Gosh, I can imagine how frustrating that would be- you poor thing.

How many weeks are you? Did you feel the baby had turned? I only ask because I never felt my dd1 turn from breech, yet the MW examined me and wrote in my notes that she had (at around 38 weeks). At 41+ weeks, after 13 hours of labour, they discovered that, surprise surprise, she was still breech, so I needed an EMCS after all.

So, if you have not actually felt the baby turn, there is a chance it may not have! I would get MW to check presentation on Monday just to be sure

Don't be disappointed you are not going to have a major operation and enjoy the time you have left without the baby being here. Take 5 minutes for yourself, it will be a while before you get the chance for anymore.

Agree with cupoftea - did they scan you? Baby might still be breech.

39 weeks, actual due date is next Thurs. I didn't feel him turn at all, I was so surprised this morning as they just did a routine scan before section & there was his head in the right place.

MW hasnt been able to tell his presentation for last 2 appts, so had a scan that confirmed breech.

Oh, okay in that case if you have had a scan then I guess he must have turned without you noticing!

I can still sympathise with your disappointment not to have him this evening, but at least now you get the excitement of waiting for labour!

That must be really frustrating for you. Am booked for a c-section in two weeks and know how much I'm preparing myself mentally that it would be really odd if it didn't go ahead.

Try to focus on the positives though. You will meet your baby really soon, however it arrives.
