I am 38+4 and just the last few days I have been have strong contractions especially towards the evening. They have been regular and then they tail off. Last night I couldnt sleep for the back pain and belly pain and then the pain in my pelvis as bubs burrowed down. But this morning the pelviis pain has gone and I am left with a dull ache.
I did have backache a lot of yesterday too.
This is bubs no. 3 btw.
I have never had a show/waters break etc etc. No. 1 was 9 days late and No.2 1 day late - but I had a sweep done and was already 4-5 cms dilated at that point.

you would think I would know wouldnt you.
I seriously thought that I was in labour last night with the amount of pain I had and I couldnt get comfy.

did you phone your mw or hospital? that's the first thing I'd have done! why don't you phone them now and ask!

nope I didnt but then everything calmed down.
I had a similar experience on sunday morning 3 hours of contractions so strong I couldnt sleep, horrid back pain and then nothing again.

Today its just back pain and a loose bowel movement. It would be nice if things could just get going.

Hi mrsleroy - how are things with you?? I was woken up last night at 3:30 with crampy contractions that came every 10 minutes lasting 1 min each time. This went on for an hour and a half and then disappeared! I had been in hosp last week with pre-eclampsia symptoms and a Dr gave me an internal exam including a sweep - so I could get going any time!!

I'm 40+3 and had on/pff contractions last week - tens machine and contraction master on a couple of times etc - still here though. hope its not the same for you as its soooo frustrating.\

having a sweep tomorrow so really hope it shows that some progress has been made.

more contractions early hours this morning for couple of hours but I breathed through them and they went off. So I am hhoping that it wont be too many days off

Hi mrsleroyjethrogibbs, I'm 38 + 4 today.

I have had regular BH for ages now and 2 nights of odd contractions last week. This is also my 3rd and the 1st 2 came at 37 weeks. So I am surprised this one is taking it's time!
I had loose stool this morning (sorry TMI) so I am really hoping that's a sign.

How's it going with you??
