DD's front tooth is too short to fall out?

7 yr old DD has been grinding her teeth. Her upper left front tooth fell out a few months ago. The right one was loose then, but has gotten shorter to the point it's almost even with the gum. It is still not falling. What would happen if it never falls out? How long should I wait before I take her to a dentist?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure if you wanted this in Childbirth!

It will fall out..

The adult tooth that is below it will push against the roots & cause them to resorbe. After they have resorbed enough the tooth will become loose & eventually fall out.

Not always. One of ds's front adult teeth came in halfway pointing into his mouth and dentist had to pull baby tooth. It was loose, but nowhere near coming out.
